Bull and CA Technologies move up a gear in modernizing and rationalizing IT infrastructures
Bull provides value-added services to support three CA Technologies solutions, to help businesses transform their IT infrastructures into private clouds
Paris,
October
23, 2012 -
The aim of the strategic alliance between Bull and CA (announced on 20 September 2011) is to deliver high added value consultancy, integration and outsourcing services to business. The powerful combination of software solutions from CA Technologies and Bull's expertise in the optimization, management and operation of complex IT infrastructures has underpinned the design of three essential stages in the transformation towards services-oriented infrastructures
-
Data Center and energy management: this initial step addresses the growing need to control all the environmental issues and turn them into an active driver for optimizing costs and service quality. Bull supports organizations in this kind of approach, providing its extensive consultancy expertise and experience in implementing energy management and sustainable development solutions (CA ecoSoftware and CA DCIM*).
-
Unified supervision of IT services: to guarantee the service levels offer to the business and cut operational costs, IT Departments need to find the right mechanisms to optimize the administration of their infrastructures. Bull uses tools from CA Technologies (CA Nimsoft Monitor) to deliver unified supervision of services, accessible in SaaS mode, and provide a consolidated view of SLAs, freeing up the IT Department from ever more complex tasks and their associated costs.
-
Industrialized application production in the cloud: through Le cloud by Bull, Bull has built up a unique set of skills in implementing and using solutions such as CA Automation Suite for Data Centers and CA Automation Suite for Clouds. These solutions are used in Bull's own Data Centers, enabling the Group to offer a complete, step-by-step approach, from structuring the services catalogue to managing SLAs, guaranteeing its customers optimum availability of their applications in cloud infrastructures.
"At a time when digital technology is establishing itself as an essential driver for innovation, actively enhancing business competitiveness, infrastructure rationalization is the top priority," says Philippe Miltin, Executive VP of Bull Computing Solutions. "The transformation towards the cloud is an unprecedented opportunity to accelerate this movement, with target architectures capable of supporting automated and optimized services that constantly evolve to keep pace with business needs. This is the thinking behind the initiatives we are developing with our partner, CA Technologies, which encapsulate Bull's expertise in IT transformation and further enhance our Le cloud by Bull offering."
"This new momentum which has boosted our alliance with Bull reflects our shared drive to respond to our customers' changing demands," adds Jean-François Pruvot, Managing Director, CA Technologies France, "ensuring they get the full benefits of an agile architecture to speed up the deployment of new services, free up resources to improve their capacity to innovate in support of the business, and drastically cut the energy costs of their IT infrastructures, So our alliance with Bull allows our customers to take full control over their IT infrastructure while also capitalizing on the potential of the Cloud."
These solutions are already fully operational; implementing in Bull's own Data Centers, capable of being demonstrated in its Centers of expertise and supported by dedicated teams.
