Bull's CRYPT2Pay hardware security module is awarded PCI HSM certification
11, 2013 -
Bull has announced that its CRYPT2Pay solution has been awarded the PCI HSM certification by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), the international organization for the main payment card schemes.
Bull CRYPT2Pay is a Hardware Security Module (HSM) aimed at financial institutions. A high-performance encryption and public key management solution that is resistant to intrusions, CRYPT2Pay secures transactions carried out using payment cards, as well as card life-cycle operations in payments systems centers.
This latest security certification is in addition to those already achieved by Bull CRYPT2Pay, including Level 3+ FIPS 140-2 certification and GIE-CB MEPS 2. Bull CRYPT2Pay is widely used in international banking networks such as American Express Global Network Services, Visa, MasterCard International and Groupement des Cartes Bancaires.
The PCI SSC is a body set up by the main card schemes (American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard and Visa) with the aim of improving the security of payment data. In order to achieve PCI HSM certification, an independent laboratory rigorously evaluated Bull CRYPT2Pay against many physical and logical security criteria, as well as assessing the development, manufacturing and logistics procedures involved in its production.
"With this PCI HSM certification, our customers can be sure they are benefiting from Bull's experience of hardware encryption spanning more than two decades, which has enabled it to remain at the cutting edge of international standards," commented Franck Greverie, Executive Vice-President, Security Solutions at Bull. "Bull takes a comprehensive and holistic approach to security, with solutions such as CRYPT2Pay fully integrated with best practice and highly effective risk management.
