French National Agency for Secure Documents (ANTS)
turns to Bull to run its strategic applications, under a
6 million outsourcing contract
26, 2013 -
ANTS (l'Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés), a public body that comes under the remit of France's Interior Ministry, has turned to Bull to operate its core business applications: so-called Titres Electroniques Sécurisées or secure electronic documents. Under the terms of the insourcing contract, worth an estimate 6 million over three years, Bull will be supporting ANTS to secure and manage its IT platforms more effectively, taking account for its need to continually evolve and the changing nature of its activities.
ANTS's role is to respond to French government departments' requirements for secure, authenticated documents, such as national registration certificates, biometric passports, driving licenses and national identity cards. To do this, it is absolutely imperative that the Agency has total control over all aspects of its information systems.
This is the challenge underlying Bull's mission, and the Group will be bringing into play all its expertise as an outsourcer, as well as its in-depth understanding of large-scale secure infrastructures and their in-service support.
Industrialization: the cornerstone of total operational control
Bull's 14-strong on-site team has been active since April 2013. Their role is to operate, administer and supervise the relevant systems, databases and applications. Eventually, Bull will also be involved in the design, hosting and in-service support for the infrastructure that supports the Agency's Business Continuity Plan (under the General Security Repository or RGS*** (Référentiel Général de Sécurité) regime).
A key priority in Bull's role will be the industrialization of procedures and operating processes. This will involve adopting best practice, Bull tools and the methodological framework which is at the heart of the Group's outsourcing expertise.
Once it has been industrialized and rationalized, the infrastructure will be fully aligned with ANTS' new requirements, as well as those of the Agency's partners.
