Bull launches StoreWay Optima 4600: reaffirming its presence in the new-generation data handling market
10, 2013 -
Bull is extending its current product range with the launch of StoreWay Optima 4600, an ultra high-performance storage bay designed to address the challenges of new-generation data management. With up to three times the performance and storage capacity of existing offerings, Storeway Optima heralds a whole new class of innovative, ultra-powerful enterprise storage platforms.
Unrivalled power and flexibility, for more effective cost control
At a time when IT budgets have never been under so much pressure, the new Storeway Optima solutions are especially well suited to dealing with the exponential growth in data to be processed. Delivering unprecedented power compared with other available solutions, the system delivers up to 2,000,000 IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second), by optimizing data configurations and content: for rapid and very positive return on investment (ROI).
Innovative functionality and high levels of service delivery to support SAN infrastructures
Bull's expertise and experience in implementing storage solutions ensures that these new-generation bays can easily be integrated into any SAN infrastructure, including convergent, heterogeneous or virtualized configurations, and private Cloud-type implementations. Their fully redundant architecture guarantees operational continuity and 99.999% availability. StoreWay Optima 4600 features a comprehensive range of software products including end provisioning, SSD cache management, intelligent data placement within the bay and energy saving functions.
As Olivier Gaumont, Director of the Enterprise Servers & Storage Business Unit within Bull Computing Solutions, stresses: "With StoreWay Optima 4600, Bull is further strengthening its unique approach to value-creation for its storage customers. Our aim is to help them tackle the challenges of data management while also keeping tight control over their budgets."
In today's difficult economic climate, and with all the challenges of managing vast amounts of data, businesses are finding it crucially important to get the very best out of their digital assets. Which is why Bull offers a unique range of services to support them in reorienting their infrastructures and virtualization strategies, including:
Storage audits to identify 'quick wins' that immediately cut costs
Global and detailed 'maturity evaluations', with accompanying recommendations and corrective action plans
Tailored workshops and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) developed and delivered by Bull's Storage Center of Expertise in Grenoble, to test new configurations in real time.
The StoreWay Optima 4600 storage bay is available now, and is recommended for use with our bullion and novascale server families (based on IntelTM processors), as well as with Bull Escala servers running under AIXTM.
