Bull integrates its TrustWayTM Proteccio shared HSM (Hardware Security Module) with OpenTrust's software suites
4, 2014 -
Bull has announced the integration of its TrustWayTM Proteccio HSM (Hardware Security Module) platform with OpenTrust's software suites. The HSM is an electronic hardware device that provides a security service for generating, storing and controlling the use of cryptographic keys.
The integration of Bull's TrustWayTM Proteccio solution into the software suites provided by OpenTrust - the European leader in security software and services - offers the possibility of a dedicated encryption area on a distributable HSM platform. This represents a major technological innovation, in its ability to incorporate a comprehensive user environment with enhanced security.
Manufactured 100% in Europe, TrustWayTM Proteccio is available to organizations that are looking for all the benefits of a flexible HSM with higher levels of security. The cryptographic module represents a benchmark when it comes to encryption security operations for critical applications.
TrustWayTM Proteccio has been designed to provide all the operation flexibility that public and private sector organizations alike require. It enables user organizations to comply with regulatory requirements and cut their operating costs, while at the same time boosting their security. It meets with the most demanding standards including Common Criteria EAL4+1 and FIPS 140-2 Level 32.
Franck Greverie, Executive VP, Bull Security Solutions, commented: "The fact that our HSM solution has been integrated into OpenTrust's software clearly reflects our shared determination to offer a highly secure solution that addresses real market needs. Bull is giving its customers the resources they need to anticipate and address increasingly sophisticated and targeted cyber attacks, while protecting their data with the highest levels of security."
"What makes TrustWayTM Proteccio so innovative is the concept of HSM partitioning, which allows our customers to capitalize on a shared, European HSM platform while also taking advantage of a dedicated cryptographic area: effectively a kind of 'Cloud+' technology," added Pascal Colin, CEO of OpenTrust
1 CC EAL4+: Common Criteria (CC) is an international standard (ISO/CEI 15408) for information systems security. The Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) represents a range of protection requirements and the TrustWay Proteccio HSM conforms to level 4+ with ADV_IMP.2, ALC_CMC.5, ALC_DVS.2, ALC_FLR.3, AVA_VAN.5
2 FIPS: The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2 (FIPS PUB 140-2) , is a US government IT security standard, used to accredit cryptographic modules.
