Developed on the basis of defense industry technologies, TrustWay® PPS incorporates a universal cryptographic processor
-
TrustWay® PPS encrypts hard disks and features 1Gb of encrypted flash memory (AES 256-bit) with 30 Mb/s performance
-
TrustWay® PPS incorporates a user authentication device, protecting against "spyware", key loggers and other weaknesses inherent in mobile computing
Bull is enhancing its TrustWay® family of products with a new generation of security processors.
Developed as a result of work carried out by Bull in the defense sector, the new TrustWay® PPS key responds to the needs for security born out of the growth of mobile computing¿ providing secure access to laptops and other mobile workstations, and securing data held on PCs and USB keys, without exposing them to the risk of industrial espionage, identity or data theft.
"With TrustWay® PPS, we are offering a universal, high-performance way to secure laptops and other mobile devices that features the most advanced security technologies now available. A single USB key provides the ultimate, simple response to the threat of theft, pirating and intrusion," explained Alain Filée Director of Bull's TrustWay Business Unit.
Innovation and scalability
This second-generation PPS ¿ entirely designed and manufactured in France, by Bull ¿delivers significant advances in terms of functionality, performance and flexibility compared with existing solutions:
-
High levels of performance, thanks to encryption at up to 30 Mb/s (in AES 256-bit mode)
-
PIN code entry - protecting against spy-ware and other key loggers - using the integral display on the key itself
-
Secure updating of firmware held on the NCD, via the workstation, ensuring that the device remains useful and up to date.
The only universal USB cryptographic processor
The TrustWay® PPS key is both simple and easy to use, and so responds perfectly to the full range of security requirements at individual workstation level.
As soon as the PPS key is inserted into the USB port, the laptop or mobile workstation is immediately secure. The user identifies his or herself by entering a PIN code via the integral display on the key. Containing a dedicated cryptographic processor, TrustWay® PPS provides all the key management, encryption, decryption and digital signature operations that the user needs:
-
Strong authentication for every type of application (and secure storage of passwords)
-
Encryption of one or more hard disk partitions
-
1Gb memory on the key itself, with integral AES 256-bits encryption enabling the totally secure storage of all data and software
-
VPN IPSEC tunnel with all forms of access (Wi-Fi, ADSL, ...)
-
Secure data transportation between one PC and another
-
Digital signature
-
Encrypted Voice-Over-IP, secure messaging
-
... and any other PKCS#11 or MS-CAPI compatible application.
