Bull launches the 1st integrally secured European smartphone
With this product, Bull extends its HooxTM range of secured professional terminals.
3, 2013 -
Bull is today announcing the launch of an integrally secure smartphone to coincide with the Assises de la Sécurité (IT security event) in Monaco. Hoox - the only European high-security smartphone for business users - further extends the Bull Group's range of secure terminals.
The HooxTM smartphone: a sovereign solution
Featuring security technologies developed in Europe, Hoox has been designed to ensure the confidentiality of communications. Providing far higher levels of security than encryption solutions available on market smartphones, Hoox meets the security requirements needed for highly sensitive data with restricted distribution1 . With strict control of access to user data, which is stored locally encrypted, Hoox prevents personal data from being used on third party servers.
HooxTM: the secure smartphone
In compliance with the rules set down by the French national information systems security body ANSSI2, Hoox brings with it the reassurance of in-depth security; from the very core of the device right through to the application layers. Hoox uses a secure, Android-based operating system developed by Bull's cyber-security R&D teams. It features an EAL4+3 certified encryption chip and a biometric sensor (for enhanced strong authentication), a digital strong-box and anti-intrusion management on all its ports.
Hoox provides encryption of voice calls and text messages, as well as for email and all data being stored or exchanged. All user identification data - including digital fingerprints - is stored in the phone's digital strong-box to be used only at local level.
HooxTM: security for professional governance
As a comprehensive offering incorporating all security functions, Hoox gives the organization total control over all its information flows (voice calls, messaging, email and data). It is easy to implement, competitively priced, well designed and powerful, making it the ultimate secure mobile phone for business users who need to manage and use sensitive information.
"High-security communications should be both easy and fast," commented Franck Greverie, Executive Vice-President of Bull Security Solutions. "We have designed the Bull Hoox range of products so users no longer have to be concerned about security and confidentiality. Intuitive and powerful, the devices are perfectly suited for business use, where confidentially is the top priority." "The addition of Hoox to our product range reaffirms Bull's technology leadership in secure business communications," added Philippe Duluc, Director of Bull's Cyber-security business.
The HooxTM smartphone in action
What if you take your eyes off it for a moment? The phone's inherent hardware security and anti-intrusion ports prevent any data from being stolen or malware from being introduced onto the device.
What if you lose it? All the data is encrypted, and the biometric sensor locks the device, so only its official 'owner' can activate it.
Communicate freely. All communications exchanged or stored via the phone are encrypted, so your calls, texts and emails are all secure.
Hoox is available now for evaluation. A turnkey implemented service is provided by Bull's subsidiary Time Reversal Communications. With the new smartphone, Bull is extending its Hoox family of secure terminals, which currently features two, compatible models: the Hoox m2 smartphone, and the Hoox m1 mobile phone, which has been available since 2011, (formerly marketed under the brand name Bull sphone).
As a sovereign solution, Hoox has been totally designed in France. It features know-how from an ecosystem of French partners, including ERCOM with its CryptosmartTM technology.
